Introduction
Alhamdulillah, the second volume of The Life of Hakeemul Ummat Hazrat Moulana Thanwi (Rahmatullahi alaih) has commenced. Alas we lack the words to describe the perfection and greatness of this Aalim-e-Haqqaani and Sufi-e-Rabbaani. We have thus borrowed the description proffered by Hazrat Moulana Abdul Maajid Saheb Daryabadi (Rahmatullahi alaih).
Moulana Daryabadi is the author of a famous Tafseer of the Qur’aan-e-Kareem in Urdu and English. In his early life he was enamoured with western philosophy and politics. He later changed to become an orthodox guardian of the Shariah. This transformation was at the hands and feet of none other than Hazrat Thanwi.
Moulana Daryabadi’s account of his first meeting and impression of Hazrat Thanwi is presented here, as it adequately introduces the personality of Hakeemul Ummat, and furthermore, it serves as a summary of what is to follow in this entire volume.
His account is extracted from his kitaab titled, Hakeemul Ummat – Portrait and Impressions.
