The intent – “Distinguishing the desirable and undesirable”

Topic of the Bayaan

From the Aayaat which I have now recited, all don’t fall under the scope of the Bayaan. The focus will be on presenting something about the first two Aayaat. In these two Aayaat, Allah Ta’ala mentions two intentions, the first being the Dunya and the second being Aakhirat. Side by side, the results of both are mentioned. Although this topic repeatedly falls on the ears, until now it was only heard vaguely. That’s why it didn’t have the desired impact. Had it been effective, its signs and effects would be present.

This topic has been selected at this juncture, because its desired impact isn’t there as yet. And no one can argue that it is not essential. That’s why the Bayaan is going to be about it.

Additionally, a request is made that it shouldn’t be understood vaguely like in previous Bayaans, nor should it be heard inattentively. Because this type of listening is the same as not listening. A topic reaching the ears isn’t synonymous with being heard inattentively. Because in the Quraan Shareef, mention is made repeatedly regarding the Kuffaar, that they don’t hear the Quraan, they are deaf.

Although the voice reaches their ears, hearing is synonymous with pondering over the content which was heard and then making Amal. In Surah Saad, clear mention is made that We have revealed the Quraan for pondering and taking heed. Allah Ta’ala says:

“A Blessed Book which we have sent down to you, so that they ponder over its verses and so that the possessors of intellect may take heed” Surah Saad #29

The Quraan Shareef also repeatedly laments the lack of pondering:

“Do they not ponder over the Quraan?”

A great weakness in us is that we do not ponder over the Quraan Shareef. People will take this to mean that we should look at the translation of the Quraan, however that much is not enough. Because this same weakness of not pondering is also found in those who read the Quraan with the translation. It is only read vaguely. Now you will ask, then what is meant? Should all the people become Maulanas? No friends! I’m not advising you’ll to become Maulanas. Rather, what is meant is that the parts of the Quraan Shareef essential for making Amal, which the Ulama have compiled as Ilme Aqaa-id, Ilme Akhlaaq and Ilme Fiqh, you’ll don’t pay attention to that.
